A. Kupsch (Australia) - April 25, 2022
I recently flew to and from Ozamiz. My flight last Feb. 25, 2022 Cebu to Ozamiz, I had no problem with my check in luggage. But my returned flight from Ozamis to Cebu in Mar 11, 2022, there was a big problem with my check in luggage when passing through the security checkpoint. The staff & the female supervisor insisted on confiscating the 3 items in my check in luggage: deodorant, hair spray & dry shampoo. These 3 items were in my check in luggage & travelled from Australia, Singapore, Cebu to Ozamiz with no problem. But on the returned flight from Ozamis to Cebu, it’s ludicrous that these items became a big problem in such a small airport. I’ve travelled around the around in the past 40 years, never once I was subjected to this type of harassment at any airports. These 2 staffs should be sent for re-education as they don’t seem to know there job properly.
As per airline regulation below:
Prohibited Items
The list of prohibited items has been expanded to include all liquid substances such as beverages, lotion, shampoo, toothpaste, gels, astringents, and other items of similar consistency. These items shall be placed in the check-in luggage and shall be confiscated if found at the final screening point.
Remember that you can only have 1 piece of luggage and a smaller carry-on bag with you when you board the plane. These bags cannot contain any prohibited items. Additional bags can be checked during the check-in process but sometimes require an additional fee. Some of the items which are prohibited in carry-on bags can be packed in checked bags. Be certain you do NOT have any prohibited items in your carry-on bags or pockets.
