Airport has no currency exchange, at least surely after check in on terminal 2. People is friendly but if you think to go to Egypt by yourself and be friendly with everyone, you will finish your money in a day, as they often ask for high prices for services, sometime that you didn't ask for. Their gentleness is often due to the fact that they see tourists as a source of money

When the new Terminal 3 opened for the first time, the airport improved vastly, was featured as the third best progress in the world and became the 100th best airport (according to Skytrax). All of this is absolute wonderful news to hear as an Egyptian.
And yet much has changed since. Indeed, arriving once to not find any baggage carts in the baggage pick up area, or perhaps when the cleanliness level of the washrooms has fallen, or the duty free which has not improved as it should have, the food court which sees a lot more potential...the list is endless.
Indeed there is also room for expansion on this terminal - the shopping experience needs to see a different shape that mirrors that seen in Dubai and Amsterdam. And the bus gates that lead to the parallel parking zones for the planes could be replaced by a tunnel and parallel gated zones...much can be done.
Terminal one departures has also become an emblem of great improvement, but really is there no chance that we will once see a non-bus gate there? The building appears to be capable of withstanding the newer direct "accordion style" gates.
And there is much of a mess inside the airport grounds as there is outside as can be seen in all of Egypt. Can we please adjust this mess of a road system and lack of zoning that we are seeing?
The airport hotels need an improvement. Movenpick lost its brand? Novotel needs a renovation. I know there is a new hotel being built but this is not an excuse to let the standards slip.
Standards are slipping and this is the face of our country. I cannot accept to see it fall.

I have traveled twice to Alexandria in Egypt via Cairo airport. They were both very pleasent trips. The staff at the airport were very warm and friendly. In fact i found that all the people i met in Egypt were very friendly. If at anytime i need help with getting around they were always willing to help. I have a lot of respect for the people of Egypt and i believe that if you show this then they will give respect back. It will also make for a happier holiday. I cant wait to go back again next year.
