Passenger feedback
Ms. S. Parent (Canada) - March 29, 2018
I wish to know how the Wellington Airport Authority will re-emburse me for the damage done to my personal effects while they searched my onboard luggage (at L4 South, officer # 3420) for dangerous goods (which I did not have). They opened a brand new cream (L'Occitane at 49.00$/w screw-top lid) Cream was found smeared on clothing throughout my several separate travel cases i.e the inside of pant legs, the hems of skirts, the fronts of blouses & jackets etc. There were also a number of art cards which were purchased at 20$ to 30.00 each, & cream was also smeared on the cardboard (this cream has an unmistakeable scent/Vervaine) & therefore destroyed by the oils in cream...about $400.00's worth.(more since several are now irreplaceable). When I opened my luggage, at first sight all looked fine, then I saw the Airport Authority card & # etc. ...noticed that my cream was now 3/4 gone! (no longer a gift) & as I opened my travel cases, saw that not only had everything been riffled through, but that there was an expensive mess left behind!! I washed the clothing which could be washed & have sent the rest to the dry cleaners ($200 Canadian). This is not acceptable. How will I be re-embursed ??
