The airport does offer a shuttle bus service for 90B, which is pretty cheap, but still no metered taxis, so they are still a ripoff. There is a good restaurant on the top floor, but signs are in bad english all over and the bathrooms stink. Also they have a strange policy that you cannot carry an EMPTY water bottle on a plane. I have a bottle that I have carried through so many airports in the last year (Seoul, JFK, BUF, BKK, Beijing, Taipei...) anyway, they made me check my only bag, which made me almost miss my flight out of Bangkok!
They could offer me on clear reason about the policy, just said it was the managers policy and pointed to a letter written in Thai... not very helpful.
Also, I found some passports and turned them in to a security guard and he had no idea what to do with them, so I had to go to a ticket booth, and they still did not page the people. Finally those people returned to where they left the passports and asked where they were... unless they might not have known they were at the ticket desk...
Basically you can expect something that looks almost first world, but you will get truly third world service at this little airport... better luck next time guys!

The airport is nice and modern. Only way to get internet access is at the restaurant upstairs - decent price though. Taxi to Aonang costs around 500 baht (expensive!). There is a bus too but I was too lazy to wait for it.
