I travelled to Istanbul this May and is a fan immediately. There is one thing I'd like to ask for your help. Does anyone have the information about the material and supplier of the public area hardwood flooring that covers substantial floor area of the Istanbul Airport. The natural, washed appearance of the wood floor is one of the most impressive design I had ever seen at airports around the world.

The phone service at the Atartuk airport is so poor that they will just hang up your call when they hear you speaking English (that's because they are unable to speak). I've recently lost a hand lugguage at the terminal and made 30 calls to the number 00902124633000. The staff were so unhelpful knowing that I am calling from other countries, speaking foreign language and was rude on the phone. They will either drop the line transfer, hang up the phone or even they managed to transfer the call, the other parties who answered the call will speak something in Turkish and hang up the phone before she even listened to my enquiry carefully. This is so annoying when I was being put on hold for so long and the result was not what I wanted. Even when I was at the airport, the service level at the counters were so bad that I felt this is not the kind of service an "international airport" should provide. I would suggest Atartuk airport management to look into the service level provided to the guest, especially to the non-Turkish speaking tourist/guest. I've always believe that one must have the passion for the job. If the staff doesn't have the passion then service line is not for them.

As a quite frequent traveller, Ataturk Airport comes on the top of my list both for the organization and the politeness of the staff. The security is a bit exagrated but I guess it is there for a reason.

I think everything but the prices were great. I was pleased by how effective the staff were, the security, and cleanliness; I did not like the prices! Make sure you have bought your needs before you go to the airport.

Very badly run, staff very rude, service appalling. The security was a totaly joke, boarding areas left open and unguarded prior to flights. Security tried to pressure me into paying a bribe for doing me a 'favour', said favour being their legal requirement anyhow. The place was also very hot and humid, the air conditioning being as bad as everything else I experienced in Turkey.

The Security at Ataturk Airport is the best I have seen at an international airport.
I would also like to take this opportunity to apologize to the security guard that I have offended by using foul language, I wasn't thinking what I was doing and my excuse for being tired is no excuse for my actions.
