Public transport
The train station is directly connected to the airport (just follow the signs for "Trains" after exiting customs). Trains for the city center leave every 10 minutes from 6am through 1am, and once per hour after that. The ride is EUR3.40, or EUR6.50 for a round trip, and takes 15 minutes. You can purchase tickets from the machine in the baggage collection hall, or from machines or manned booths in the station itself. Trains to Amsterdam Centraal station depart from platforms 1 and 2.
Banking, ATMs, and currency exchange
ATMs and currency exchange booths are located in each baggage collection hall so you can retrieve Euros while waiting for your luggage to arrive.
Also, there are ATMs scattered throughout the public areas of the airport, especially the shopping mall on the arrival level between the train station and the airport terminals.
Internet access
Internet access (provided desktop PCs, or Wifi or ethernet for your laptop) is available upstairs in the main transit area corridors (between the C and D concourses) through Attingo. Follow signs to "Communication Centre". The cost is EUR3 for 15 minutes, EUR6 for 30 minutes, or EUR9 for 60 minutes.
Internet access is also available through the "Multifoon" devices clustered with pay phones throughout the airport. To use these you must buy a prepaid KPN phone card from a newsstand.
Luggage storage
Coin-operated storage lockers are located along the main hallway through the transit/departure area, across from the start of the E wing. EUR5 per 24 hours, maximum one week.

Passenger feedback
Referring to flight
KL1385 June 5th Amsterdam to Kiev
After leaving gate we had a quite long taxi with an in-between stop and back to the gate.
We were supposed to be 117 passengers on board while we left with 118 passengers.
It took a while to be informed that one passengers on board coming from Curaçao had a final destination to Kiev but via Istanbul and owned a Turkisch airlines ticket.
To me this is a serious control and security issue and rules were completely unrespected.
I hope this major incident was investigated and necessary steps were and are taken to avoid a planes departing with more passengers than it should be.
Horrible cattle market, no courtesy, rough and ready
Departing to Vancouver on October 26, 2013 the ground crew at the luggage drop off was rude and refused to help elderly people having problems lifting their luggage.
Arriving at the gate there were only 5 seats available. The seating area is past the security which only start 30-45 mins before boarding. We had an hour delay but older people, people with small children and less abled people had to sit on a concrete floor .... it is no service!
Last evening, while waiting at the gate to board a late flight to Dublin, I witnessed an African woman and a small boy, aged about five years old, across the concourse, being refused access to a separate flight to London. Both were in tears, the woman at one stage on her knees, begging to be allowed travel. The gate staff with dismissive and rude, and regardless of cause, ignored the rights of the child, who I'm sure was charged for his seat. Shameful.
I had such a bad experience that I decided never to go via Amsterdam again. It mostly is poor design bad signage and very unnecessary rude peronal security checkups
My husband flew Flybe from Exeter, UK, to Schipol on 14th June 2013. He was en route to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where he works. Flybe refused to allow him to book his luggage through to Nairobi, his next stop. They said he would have to claim his luggage at Schipol before his flight to Kenya. The Schipol authorities refused to allow him out to claim his luggage, so it would have been left going round and round on the carousel. Schipol Lost and Found were extremely rude and unhelpful when I phoned then to enquire about the luggage. They wouldn't even listen to the whole story. Flybe place the blame squarely on Schipol. What are we to do ? No-one will help. There is chronic medication in that case, which my husband needs urgently.
Be carefull with the luggage lockers,
It has a funny sstem with a barcode on the ticket,
The scanner on my unit was us and entering
The barcode manually on the tiny pad was very frustrating and took 10 minutes, my fingers are to big for the pad and kept entering the wrong code.
I allmost missed my flight.
The downstairs unit only opens at 6 am
The decision to allow travelling Chelsea Football fans to be met by immigration and transfer coaches on the tarmac, avoiding going through the terminal, was inspired, thoughtful, & much appreciated. Football fans do not always cover themselves in glory so getting them out of harms way as quickly as possible was a master stroke. Well done for joined up thinking.
I was in Sochi Russia working for 11 days and flew through Moscow to Amsterdam through to Toronto Pearson. I had some ROubles left while in Moscow so I decided to spend them at duty free. I purchases a nice bottle of Kauffman Vodka and a bottle of 18 year Glengilet Scotch. If bought in Canada, the price would be $250 total. I had them sealed in the duty free bags but when going through a security check getting on my flight to Toronto from Schipol airport, the bottles were taken from me because they were not purchased in the European Union. A problem I did not encounter when I purchased duty free in Canada and brought it through Schipol on my way to Moscow. I made sure I took the reciepts fromt he bags after they took them. I want reimbursement! Does anyone knwo what I can do to go through with this??
In addition to the comment from Radu Stern: Schiphol Hotel Shuttle Customer Care received his complaint a couple of days after the remark on this blog and after thorough investigation into the matter deemed it valid. If for some reason anything goes wrong, we urge our passengers to file a complaint which will be handled and assessed individually and with the utmost care. We do understand that our passengers experience great discomfort if the reserved shuttle does not arrive on time. We can assure our customers that we strive to transport every passenger according to our highlevel standard in hospitality and comfort.
I flied many times to Schiphol and I was impressed by the quality of its services,
Last time, alas, I was the victim of the terrible service of the Connexions hotel shuttle service, which did not respect their commitment and made me almost miss my plane. They denied having a reservation, which has been made by the very kind receptionist of Eden Lancaster hotel in front of my eyes and, although I had a return ticket from them, I was compelled to take an emergency taxy.to the airport, which billed me 56 euros extra.
I wrote twice to the Connexions hotel shuttle company about the incident but I got no answer from them.
I conclude that this company is a tourist trap which tarnishes the good reputation of Schiphol and advise all travellers not to use their unreliable service.
Has been my favorite airport but I do think other European airports have caught up. But still love touching down in AMS and either getting a coffee at 8:00am while the guy next to you is getting a beer and going in the other direction. Also love how easy it is to get into town via the trains and then trams.
Most user friendly baggage storage facility I've seen - desk staff are very helpful.
I am not sure why this airport gets such good reviews. Everything is extremely expensive and it is impossible to escape from the cigarette smoke. The walk to the gates is often extremely long. The only good thing I can say is that the security personnel (who check your carry-on bags) are very polite.
