There is no subway or train service directly to LaGuardia Airport. However, several bus lines serve the passenger terminal.

Bus M60 runs from the airport, through Harlem, and past Columbia University; it is popular with students. It connects with subway lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, A, C and D, about half an hour from the airport in light traffic.

Buses Q33 and Q47 connect to subway lines E, F, G, R and 7, about 15 minutes away from the airport.

If you will be riding the bus to the subway, the cheapest approach is to buy a stored-value MetroCard from one of the newsstands near the baggage carousels. The combined bus and subway fare will use USD2 of the credit on your MetroCard.

Taxi fare to Manhattan will cost between USD20 and USD30 depending on destination, not including tip and bridge/tunnel toll. Yellow metered taxis are available at all hours from the sidewalk immediately outside the terminal. Official dispatchers are on duty during peak hours to hail taxis and answer questions.

Taxi transfer to JFK airport is approximately USD30. Taxi transfer to Newark Liberty Airport (EWR) is about USD80.
